How to Draw A Croissant?
Croissant Scans & Photography

Photos of the croissant and scanned images of different sections of the croissant

Photo of short elevation of the croissant
The first step of this assignment is taking pictures of the croissant from three different views: long elevation, short elevation, and plan view. The most important of this step is to ensure that taking pictures from correct angles, which means you must take photos from the exact front, side, and top views. Otherwise, photos taken from inaccurate angles will impact the reality of the croissant shown in the picture and the future work of drawing the croissant.

After taking photos of the croissant, the next step can be considered as the easiest part throughout the whole assignment. Just cutting the croissant into three parallel different parts and scanning the sections of its inside structure.
But this step is very significant because sections and section drawings play a very important role in the axonometric drawings. If you do not cut the croissant parallelly, it is difficult to draw.

Drawing of section A of the croissant
The third step of the assignment is drawing. From my point of view, drawing is not an easy thing.
Since it requires us to draw as many details as we can, it could take several hours to finish one sketch. Besides, shading your sketch is very hard because you need to use different values to show the depth, which means to make your drawings look more 3D.
Croissant Axonometric Drawings

Axonometric drawings of the croissant

Here we are! The last step of this assignment. I think it is very easy to finish this step if you understand the principle of the setting up the axonometric. Just be careful when you using the sections as a guide mark on the intersection points because three grids make your paper look very messy and it is very difficult for you to join the intersection points.
