I am Tianchen Xu 徐天辰, a Bachelor of Design (major: architecture) student at the University of Melbourne. 

​

My primary interest is architecture, history, and art. However, my hobbies are rich and various such as reading, hand-drawing, and photography. The focus of my current study and research is how history and critical regionalism can be reflected and merged into the architecture and the urban context, as well as both Western and Eastern urban and cultural heritage. 

I come from Nanjing, one of the cities with rich and long histories in China. Since Nanjing is a historic city, there are lots of wonderful and elegant traditional Chinese architecture, gardens, and heritages. Chinese history and philosophy drive me to explore the possibility of architecture in Modern China which reflects Chinese aesthetics.
